SPECIAL DAY: Kaitaia's clergy came together yesterday with pupils, parents and friends of Pamapuria School for a service of rededication, marking a new beginning after the devastation brought upon the school and its community by former teacher James Parker.

The ceremony began with a brief service, after which each classroom and the hall/multi-purpose room were blessed, and finally the school as a whole.

Those officiating were Mike Clark (Kaitaia Christian Fellowship), Lt Nikki Mellsop (Salvation Army), Howard Cross (Kaitaia Union Parish), Ngaoa Arona (Abundant Life), Rima Wiki (Hai Ratana), John Pirini (Pukenui Community Church), Louis du Plessis (Kaitaia Baptist Church), Graeme Baucke (Virtue Church), Patrick Coogan (Seventh Day Adventist Church) and Canon Dennis Urquhart (Anglican).
