The Petersens, a family band known for their soulful bluegrass music, will be performing in Northland next year.

Known for their tight harmonies, heartfelt songs, and deep-rooted connection to the traditions of American roots music, The Petersens bring a fresh yet nostalgic sound that captivates audiences worldwide.

Their top-rated Branson show has been running for 14 seasons, and they have toured throughout Ireland, Finland, Canada, the UK and the United States.

Now, they are bringing their signature style to New Zealand for an unforgettable musical experience. Northland fans can catch them in Kerikeri and Whangārei in March, while shows in the rest of the country will start on February 21.

The Petersens are a family band known for their soulful bluegrass music. They gained global attention through their popular YouTube channel, where their videos have reached over 200 million views.

Hailing from the Ozarks in Missouri, the band is made up of siblings Katie, Ellen, Matt and Julianne, along with their mother Karen and friend Emmett Franz. Their music blends tradition with a modern twist, creating a sound that resonates with fans of all ages.

NZ-based guitarist Mark Mazengarb, who has brought out several acts from the US in recent years, is promoting the tour.

“Like a lot of people, I discovered The Petersens online through their brilliant YouTube videos. To me, you can’t beat the timeless combination of strong vocal harmonies, good songs, and instrumental mastery. I’ve really tried to find venues that will match the music and create that intimate setting that this music fits so well.”

During their New Zealand tour, The Petersens will be performing a mix of traditional bluegrass and country songs, gospel tunes, popular cover songs, and original compositions. Each performance showcases the impressive musicianship and arrangements that complement their beautiful harmonies. Their setlist is sure to include fan favourites and heartfelt new material, making each show a memorable experience.

Genres: Gospel, bluegrass, country, folk. The Petersens will be in Whangārei at Forum North on March 1 and in Kerikeri at the Turner Centre on March 2. They will also be playing in other parts of the country and tickets and more information can be found on www.iticket.co.nz.
