Mangonui Netball entered four teams in the annual North Harbour netball representative tournament last Sunday.

All four sides went in with high hopes of winning their section and all performed with distinction while her report from the day focused on the performances of the Mangonui under-15 and Year 7 teams.

The U15s started with a confident performance to beat Te Raki Paewhenua 17-2 win but Auckland and East Waikato proved tougher opposition; while the new Year 7 side beat Mangere/ Otahuhu 12-8, pulled off a 7-7 with North Harbour and won their third game10-8 to progress to the semi-finals where they were beaten by Waitakere.

MNC rep convener June Matiu said the girls played their hearts out and represented Mangonui very well, and noting the focus was now on another rep tournament in Kerikeri this Sunday.
