Fairburn Hall committee chairman Peter Niepel checking that his genuine Bavarian lederhosen still fit in preparation for Sunday's Oktoberfest.

He couldn't promise to match Munich's effort - this year's 184th Oktoberfest there attracted 6.2 million guests who downed 7.5 million litres of beer - but committee chairman Peter Niepel guaranteed a good time for all the family at the Fairburn Hall's version on Sunday (starting at 11am), with German food (including a fresh batch of pretzels) and drinks, great music and "world famous" German sausages from Mangonui.

Wearing lederhosen was encouraged.

Proceeds will go towards the running costs of the hall.
