Now into her third season of competitive speedway at Taipa, Pam Fisher is adamant life in the fast lane is the only way to go.
Competing in the C-grade ladies' class in a Honda Civic, Pam said she was stoked to race against three others at the last meet atTaipa Speedway on Sunday, November 20 (having four in any grade will be regarded as a respectable field by Taipa Speedway officials as the new season continues to stutter, stall and lurch out of the starting blocks in traditional fashion).
Pam said she decided to start racing cars three summers ago as a way to get out and do her own thing.
"Full of energy, I am - It's just something for me because I help everyone else out in the community," she said. That included working with special needs children, running a food caravan and looking after four kids "that aren't mine".
The greatest thing she'd noted since she took up racing was her own personal development. "I have done a big improvement since I began. Confidence has grown - you meet some neat people through speedway," she said.
She was looking forward to the club's various upcoming meets including the big event on the 2016/17 calendar, the New Year's Extravaganza in early January.
She also invited the wider community to get along to the Taipa Speedway's monthly race meets and watch the local speedfreaks in action.
"Come along and support our club. It's a really neat family day out."
