The Bay Marlins softball team is gearing up to host their annual end-of-season tournament for teams from other regions across the upper half of the North Island on Saturday, April 1.

The event will represent a fitting climax to a very busy summer season for the Marlins, who have performed with distinction at three recent tournaments outside of the district.

The men's team placed runner up at the Waitakere Bears tournament, claimed first place in the Royal New Zealand Navy tournament earlier this month, while the women placed second at the Metro and third at the Navy tournament.

The Marlins were also presented with the coveted best sportsmanship award (for best club) at the Navy tournament.

Over the weekend, the Marlins entered both teams as well as a side in the mixed division of the Cast and Keg tournament at Kamo in a field of 22 teams contesting titles in men's women's and mixed divisions. Results were unknown at time of going to press.
