Far North equestrians took out three of the top five prizes at Dressage Northland's annual prizegiving ceremony in Whangarei last month.

The top results at the July 19 presentation included Rider of the Year going to Kaye Ahsam of Awanui (see feature in last Thursday's Age), Junior Rider of the Year to Rebecca Donovan Jnr of Kaitaia, while the Most Improved Combination was awarded to Broadwood's Kerry Holland with Lyndgael Unique.

The other major recipients included Judge of the Year to Carol Going of Matarau, and Sports Spirit of the Year to Anne Comins of Paparoa.

Also held was the prizegiving for the province's three other equestrian groups, showjumping, showhunter and eventing.
