The old Pak'n Save building in Kaitaia.

The old Pak'n Save building in Kaitaia.

I am wondering if anyone, like me, has considered the ideas of using the old Pak'n Save building, above, as a Performing Arts' Centre. It wouldn't take much to construct a stage and an auditorium, with rooms off to the side for various groups to work in.

I know we have the wonderful Te Ahu Centre, but this facility would offer greater space and the opportunity for groups to work in it all day - side by side.

I'm sure if we had enough interest from enough performers/entertainers out there, we could find the philanthropists to finance it.

What better way to engage the unemployed than to offer the chance to sing, dance, act, or perform for the tourists in a centre recognising, encouraging and improving their talents.
What do others think?
