I wonder how many of the current politburo have actually run a business and produced something worthwhile at a profit. This is what produces income for the country, and creates jobs not paid by taxes.
How many have toiled away, fighting red tape and obtrusive bureaucracy, to achieve something worthwhile in their business, only to see governments, both central and local, taxing them in many and all forms?
People came to this country from the Pacific, Europe, Asia and the rest of the world to get a better life and escape the tyranny of social class and exorbitant wealth and power in the hands of a few.
Now it seems that exorbitant wealth and power is in the hands of politicians who pay themselves more each year, fleece those that try hard, and create more costly regulations to justify their existence.
It is a sad indictment on our society that we have regressed to the type of oppressive regime of governance that many forebears chose to escape.
