Humbling

On behalf of our club, Ki-o-rahi Akotanga Iho, and all of our supporters and volunteers, we send our sincere thanks to everyone who helped to make the TrustPower Community Awards such a success.

Monday night's ceremony was very humbling. Humbling to be amongst so many dedicated Far North volunteers, young and old, and humbling to have some of our hard-working crew there to celebrate their nominated achievement - Te Atarauarangihaeata.

Thanks go to TrustPower for generously funding the event, to their rep Suzi Luff for her expert organisation, along with FNDC's Lau'rell Pratt, to Adrienne Tari and Matangi Te Wake on reception and kai, to the night's MCs, Mayor Wayne Brown and TrustPower's Graeme Purches.

The Far North may have negative stats around (un)employment, crime and health, but assuredly we rate highly with the passion, vigour and diversity of our volunteer organisations. Without the impetus of TrustPower we would not have had the chance to express our gratitude to so many volunteer organisations or to appreciate the absolute depth of their work.
