On behalf of the trustees and staff of the R Tucker Thompson Sail Training Trust, I would like to acknowledge and thank the Northland Age for their ongoing support of the R Tucker Thompson, not just during Tucker Week but also throughout the year.
We had a greatresponse to a number of our initiatives, and it was a pleasure to see so many of you visit our stand at Waitangi this year.
We are still in the middle of our fundraising campaign but at this stage are planning to run a total of 15 voyages this winter, our most ambitious programme to date.
This, of course, would not be possible without the generous support of sponsors such as Top Energy, Far North Holdings and a number of Lions groups, not to mention individuals who support our Mates of the Tucker programme.
Thanks to them and others we have been in a position to deliver Duke of Edinburgh programmes, the Tai Tokerau Tall Ship Challenge and experiences that continue to develop confidence, encourage teamwork and build leadership potential in the young people of the region.
