Upon taking a constitutional along Taipa Beach Boulevard a hideous sight I came upon. An ugly box truck vehicle with large wording on each side. Colour of truck similar to The Warehouse. The Truck shop.
While brushing past this monstrosity to get to the beach for tuatua,I saw two foreign type dudes inside it. They were laughing and swapping/counting what looked like receipts. I wasn't that close, so didn't pick up the joke. No money did I see. That would come later for them.
I now call their truck The Two Rude Dudes Truck, as I know of them. A parasitical mobile shop unit travelling the Top North, enticing people to buy their interior goods at inflated prices, twice the price and sometimes even thrice.
I believe we will be seeing more of these two rude dudes, and more than one. The Shop Truck come this side of Christmas. No set opening and closing time for these guys, and no overheads or store rental fees, or staff.
Don't be enticed by these debt-creating shop trucks. But we live in a free society and the choice is yours. By not shopping from these dudes you're more likely to have more in your pocket for gift giving and fine dining come the holiday festive season.
Boycott these dudes, sending them out of the Top North. Let's lead by example and send them packing. Show communities like South Auckland that we will not be preyed upon, as most of us have friends, family/whanau down the line.
An early Merry Christmas and a happy debt-free New Year from the board and skilled budget advisers at Kaitaia Family Budget Services, the Top North's only non-profit, free and confidential budgeting service.
