Weather in the way

My apologies for the weather yesterday, something beyond my control.

I have organised the zone swimming event for the past 18 years, without the weather being too unkind. In Kaitaia this morning, the weather was what I considered to be not too bad and I was forever hopeful that the weather would hold until after the swimming concluded at approximately 1.30 p.m.

Obviously this was not the case and I apologise for any inconvenience caused to so many people having to travel, take time off work etc.

In the end the staff of the Kaitaia Municipal Pools called off the event due to safety (slight thunder and lightning).

Thank you to those schools and people who turned up expecting to swim, and unfortunately trying to arrange to move the event to Aniwaniwa was not to be.

To the nine staff of Kaitaia Primary school, thank you for your efforts - much appreciated.

Due to the fact that we would have to take out another nine staff for a postponement, we have decided to cancel the zone swimming sports for this year.

In 2017 it would be ideal for us to have a postponement date planned.

As you all know it is very hard to please all of the people all of the time, but if you need to contact me, please do.
