Hardly miserable

To 'Jenni's help' on the subject of her/his claim that local businesses are a miserable bunch. I strongly disagree!

Years back my holiday rental car was broken into at Ahipara ramp. Everything was taken within minutes, and my two daughters and I were left with the clothes we had on. Passports, cash, Christmas presents, my girls' final school exam work, food.

We three will never forget the generous, humbling and speedy response from not only family, friends and local unknowns but the community police, the Northland Age and local small business owners ... and I name them to counteract your claim - Garton Motors, M Anderton (locksmith) and Kaitaia Radiators.

Every Christmas since we celebrate them all.
