One too many

Regards to 'Te Hiku's done it again' (Northland Age, October 23).

Yes I agree Te Hiku is doing the community a great service, and its doctor's surgery in Cooper's Beach provides a wonderful service, but as a community we do wonder how another pharmacy in the Cooper's Beach area is going to be of any help.

We already have a fabulous pharmacy with wonderful and caring staff. Opening another pharmacy in such a small community is a ridiculous idea and totally unnecessary.

The money would be put to better use elsewhere.

Our small community would not be able to sustain two pharmacies, so what would happen? Loss of jobs, and why would you want to do that in a small area where work is already hard enough to find?

If Te Hiku is a community-minded business they should re-think their plans, as I know myself, and most of the community will continue to support Doubtless Bay Pharmacy as they have been around for so many years and are part of our community family.
