Far North Mayor John Carter

Far North Mayor John Carter

Mayor John Carter released the following statement last week.

'In the January 7 edition of the Northland Age, comments were attributed to me regarding the resignation of the chief executive and the current review of the Sweetwater project.

Some comments were reported together in the same paragraph, although they relate to the two separate issues.

The review of the Sweetwater project is being carried out by Mr Murray Broadbelt, in conjunction with BDO and with some oversight by the Auditor-General.

There has been no outcome from the review, and no findings of any sort have been made at this time.

The resignation of the chief executive was his own personal decision, and the council acknowledges his personal commitment and positive achievements over the past five years.'
