Finally the bridge has gone

PROBLEM SOLVED: The footbridge at the end of Taaffe Street, Kaitaia was finally dismantled on Monday. Te Hiku Community Board had been keen to get rid of it for some years, given its deterioration, the cost of repairing it and the contribution it made to problems with drunks, drug users, perverts, thieves and ne'er-do-wells in general frequenting the now closed walkway between the bottom of the bridge and Dominion Road.
