Thirteen people were injured - some seriously - in a Far North crash involving a truck and a van.
A spokesperson for Hato Hone St John said the service was notified of the incident at 7.42 am and sent to the crash site on Lamb Rd, Pukenui, three ambulances,a first response unit, an operations manager, and three helicopters
Eight people were transported to Kaitāia Hospital - four in a moderate condition, and four with more minor injuries.
Four others were flown to Whangārei Hospital, two in a moderate condition and two more seriously injured.
One person with minor injuries was treated at the scene.
Police and Fire and Emergency New Zealand also attended the scene, with two fire engines sent from Houhora.
