Cruz’n along

On Saturday the participants are at Kerikeri Domain for the Kerikeri Klassic Car Show, before heading to Paihia. On the final day, Sunday, the cars will be in Ōpua, then drive to Paihia waterfront for the Badazz Street Festival. For more information, head to the Cruz’n the Bayz website.
Upgrade advances
The upgrade of Kaikohe’s water treatment plant has reached a milestone – completing the foundation of the new 1.5-million-litre storage reservoir. Construction of the new stainless-steel tank can now start, which will enable increased water storage for Kaikohe. The next step will be to drain the existing dam so that piping already installed to create a new outlet can be connected. When completed, the work will increase the capacity that can be taken from the dam. Raw water from the Wairoro Stream is currently pumped up to the dam for storage, before it is fed into the water treatment plant.
OneSchool Global (OSG) students in Kerikeri have raised $1,264.41 for the Starship Foundation, supporting the national children’s hospital, as part of a national fundraising campaign by OSG. At OSG Kerikeri, the primary school students organised their own mini market, with a range of items handmade by the students for sale, including gift packs, cards, fridge magnets and hair ties. Parents and members of the school community were welcomed to campus to take part in the mini market in support of Starship children’s hospital. The activity was part of a wider campaign by OSG to raise funds for the Starship Foundation across the country, which raised $7105.62. The funds will help to ensure all children in the country have access to world-class healthcare at the hospital.
