Far North fog prompts police warning after multiple crashes

Police are warning motorists in the Far North to take extra care on the roads after dense fog and several crashes today.

A spokesperson said thick fog was impacting visibility between Waipapa and North Kaeo.

“A number of crashes have been reported in the area and Police are reminding drivers to slow down and drive to the conditions.”

Motorists should delay travel until conditions improve, they said.

“Anyone who must drive is asked to use their lights, reduce their speed and be aware there may be things on the road they cannot clearly see.”
