Bubba's Baby Store in Kaitaia has launched the 2014 Daffodil Day baby photo competition, in support of the Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Day appeal.

The first photos will be taken on Friday next week (August 1), and the last batch on August 22. The winners in three age groups - birth to 6 months, 7 to 12 months and 13 months to 3 years - will be declared on Daffodil Day, Friday August 29.

Bubba's proprietor Krystal-Rose Taaffe, who took over organising the event from staff at the local branch of the National Bank last year, said she was getting a lot of support from the business community by way of sponsorship, and the winning babies would receive some very nice prizes.

Entry will cost $15, of which $5 will go to the Cancer Society, the bulk of the money being raised by public voting. Every photo will again be published in the Northland Age. Last year's (Spring Baby) competition raised $6807 for Far North Hospice.

Entry forms and further details are available at Bubba's.
