ON THE BALL: Attacking midfielder Natalie Syddall scored in Kerikeri Siteworx's 7-2 win over Central Brown at Waipapa on Sunday.

Saturday men

Kerikeri Bay Builders 7 Bream Bay United 0: A comprehensive win for the competition pacesetters in the only match to take place from round 7 of the Northland Men's Premier Division and played in wet surface conditions at Waipapa on Saturday afternoon.

Kerikeri player Mark Roberts noted this was another good performance by the prems who were "solid in defence and great on attack". Standout was Jake McGowan who scored a hattrick, with other goals by Dan Johnstone, Timo Obrez, Martin Brookes and Shane King.

All other NMP games were postponed due to a poor weather forecast, including the Kaitaia United Justa Plumber vs Onerahi clash at Taipa. Keri are now nine points clear on top of the NMP standings which were Kerikeri (played 6, for/ against 39/0) 18 points, Kaitaia (6, 10/12) 9, Tikipunga (6, 12/16) 9, Kamo (5, 12/8) 8, Central Brown (6, 8/8) 8, Bream Bay (7, 6/23) 7, Onerahi (6, 9/13) 5, FC/ Madhatters (6, 5/21) 2.

Kerikeri Reserves 3 Bream Bay Reserves 0: The Keri reserves securing three points to go back on top of the standings without having to kick a ball in the only game 'played' from round 7 of the Northland Men's 1st Division. Standings were, Kerikeri (7, 28/14) 15, Kamo (6, 35/9) 13, FC (5, 19/9) 12, Tikipunga Orange (6, 17/13) 9, Central Brown (6, 10/9) 9, Bream Bay (7, 14/27) 7, Madhatters Blue (6, 7/24) 3, Onerahi Reserves (5, 5/30) 3.

Kerikeri Harcourts Masters 5 Onerahi 0 (ht 1-0): The 2nd Division champions also securing a comfortable win in the second game of the double-header played in sticky conditions at Waipapa on Saturday. Goals by Laurie Williams 2 (and POTD award), Nick Blake, Anthony Chalder Royle and captain Graham 'Kermit' Sharp with a stunning drive. Keri's Sean White noted this was a great performance from the homeside considering the pitch conditions, while the game itself was a pleasure to ref.

The other result from the Northland Men's 2nd/3rd Division Grading played on Saturday was, Northern Wairoa 3 Central Brown 1. As in the NMP, most of the other NM2/3 other matches were postponed including the Kaitaia United Top Roofer vs Tikipunga Development clash at Taipa (a match which could have easily taken place but Kaitaia management taking advantage of the call to postpone the weekend games due to a plague of injuries/ non-availability etc), and Bay Cosmos Mixed vs Madhatters Green at Kawakawa.

NM2/3G standings: Kerikeri (7, 22/6) 19, Madhatters Green (6, 27/10) 16, Madhatters Black (6, 24/8) 13, Onerahi (7, 15/14) 12, Tikipunga Coastline (6, 12/8) 10, Kaitaia (6, 16/11) 9; Northern Wairoa (6, 16/13) 9, FC (6, 8/13) 9, FC (6, 8/13) 9, Kamo WA (6, 12/11) 6, Central (7, 17/26) 6, Tikipunga Dvpt (6, 7/31) 0, Bay Cosmos Mixed (5, 3/28) 0. - There will be no senior men's games played in Northland this Saturday with a Fifa U-20 World Cup match on in Whangarei. The Kaitaia United seniors are in the process organising a social team to take on the Whangarei-based O35 Wasps side in a friendly before attending the USA vs Myanamar game which will kick off at 4pm.

Sunday women

Kerikeri Siteworx 7 Central Brown 2 (ht 4-0): Kerikeri winning this round 7 clash the Northland Women's Premier Division (NWP) in comfortable fashion but in chilly, blustery conditions at Harmony Lane on Sunday. The result puts Kerikeri at the top of the table, albeit equal on points with champions Kamo who have a game in hand. Keri's Kate Liddington noted the side was really gelling well as a team and were now looking forward to what is expected to be an intensely contested Far North derby this Sunday at Kerikeri High School, followed by two weeks without a game, first on June 7 (in honour of a Fifa U-20 World Cup match being played in Whangarei) and a bye on June 14. Goals by Nikki Osbourne (in her first game with the side this year), Emma Richards 2, Makarena Dalton (the centre mid earning her side's POTD award), Natalie Syddall and Lilly Molloy Wolt.

Hora Hora 2 Kerikeri High School 9 (1-5): The Kerikeri High Schoolgirls asserting their dominance in no uncertain fashion at Hora Hora on Sunday. Coach Russell McCabe said it was "one of those days" for the visitors, who broke through with an early goal and went on to dominate proceedings, finding the back of the net in frequent fashion, while Hora Hora's fast strikers were well met with a good defensive line on the counter.

Goals by Priscilla Hornsby 4, Jess Fuller 2, Libby Inwood (the centre back named POTD), Bailey Belleu and Finella O'Leary. The two women's results on Sunday meant all five senior Kerikeri football sides won by convincing margins over the weekend.

Standings were, Kerikeri Siteworx (6, 30/7) 15, Kamo (5, 25/3) 15, Kerikeri High (5, 23/13) 9, Hora Hora (5, 19/25) 6, Northern Wairoa (3, 8/11) 3, Central Brown (4, 10/14) 3, Onerahi (6, 2/44) 0.
