Barry Allison and Faye Norman claimed the men's and women's singles titles respectively when the finals of both Bowls Far North Centre Champ of Champ events were completed in Kaitaia on Sunday, February 26.
The men's division was convened by Bunty Baron at the Kaitaia Combined Bowling Club, and featured12 players from clubs around the Far North district who participated on a one-life system over four games throughout the day.
By the third game (semifinals), there were four players left being Allison (Far North RSA) who beat Ian Woodley (Kerikeri), and Anthony George (Russell) who beat Peter Guest (Kohukohu).
Allison and George met in the final where the RSA man prevailed 21-13.
The women's division featured 14 entries and was convened by Adele Gardner at the Far North RSA.
Reaching the semifinal were Norman (Waitangi) who beat Christine Hodren (Kerikeri), and Rose Timoko (Kaitaia Combined) who beat Kyra Rapana (Houhora). Norman beat Timoko 21-17 in the final.
