Ōkaihau is till leading the way in terms of reducing water consumption in the Far North, even exceeding the 25 per cent target, but Kaitaia lifted its game significantly over the last week. The only communities not to reduce consumption were Paihia and Kerikeri, were usage increased by more than 23 per cent, thanks to the influx of visitors on Waitangi Day.
