No one goes hungry at the Cooper's Beach Bowling Club on Daffodil Day.

No one goes hungry at the Cooper's Beach Bowling Club on Daffodil Day.

The Mangonui Lions know what goes into a hearty breakfast. And on Friday next week (August 31, Daffodil Day), they will prove it once again when they hit the kitchen at the Cooper's Beach Bowling Club.

This year's Daffodil Day breakfast (6am-9am) is once again being billed as an 'all you can eat' affair, featuring fruit juice, cereal, fruit, savoury mince, sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns, baked beans, spaghetti, toast, tea and coffee, all for $20 per person (and $10 for children aged 10 and under).

They will also be selling raffle tickets, and manning a barbecue at the Cooper's Beach shops from 9am to 1pm.

Lion Dave Shalders said last year's breakfast had been the most successful yet, some 250 guests contributing to a $5500 donation to the Cancer Society.

"We get excellent support from suppliers in the food business, which helps make it an amazing fundraiser for the Cancer Society," he said.
