The main winners from the Doubtless Bay Fishing Contest and Auction prizegiving held at the Mangonui Fire Station grounds on Saturday and Sunday of Auckland Anniversary Weekend were as follows.

SATURDAY. Juniors, heaviest snapper: 7.414kg Tyrhal Batters (e.g. 1st), 4.525kg Hannah Robson (2nd); trevally: 1.61kg Finn Gordon, kahawai: 2.61kg Skyla Proctor, sprat: 0.14kg Te Kawana Mikiha, john dory 1.17kg Carter Nash.

Land based heaviest snapper: 8.26kg Arthur Yates. Ladies' heaviest snapper: 8.48kg Ella Davey. Heaviest crayfish: 2.85kg Parker Bellingham; Closest to average: 1.2kg Nick Jurlina. Kahawai: 2.975kg Marietta Rihari, 2.835 Darcy Proctor, 2.655kg Kepa Abraham.

Other heaviest species, trevally: 2.505kg Mark Woods, 2.3kg Kurt Stanasich, 2.25kg Amanda Moore; kingfish: 39.2kg Sheldon Attwood, 21.05kg and 20.85kg both by Rewiti Wetana, and closest to average: 13.4kg Darren Jurisich.

Snapper: 12.84kg Cambell Matthews, 9.72kg Larry Matthews, 8.965kg Geoff Hamilton, closest to average: 2.94kg Rowan Moore. And Lucky Draw, being a trip for two to Queenstown including two nights' accommodation plus $400 spending money: Shane McNamara.

SUNDAY. Juniors, heaviest snapper: 5.635kg Jessica Scott, 4.085kg Callum Jones; kahawai: 2.695kg Peyton Yakas; sprat: 0.425kg Lakyra Bracken; koheru: 0.615kg Awhina Harrison; john dory: 1.31kg Kali Dent.

Land based heaviest snapper: 10.1kg Marty Benson. Ladies' heaviest snapper: 7.555kg Debbie Rihari. Crayfish, heaviest: 2.4kg Joseph Leslie, closest to average: 1.5kg J Leslie. Kahawai: 2.76 D Rihari, 2.725kg Ben McPherson, 2.635kg Jared Meehan.

Ugliest: eagle ray Kim Gordon.

Other heaviest species, trevally: 4.695kg Mark Johnson, 4.665 Rory Collings, 3.715kg Beverley Grant; kingfish: 30.95 R Wetana, 27.05kg Lennon Shine, 22.2kg Rory Attwood, and closest to average: 13.7kg Mike Hori; snapper: 10.1kg Marty Benson, 8.065kg Gavin Parlour, 8.01kg Lester Perry, and closest to average: 2.97kg Brett Scott.

OVERALL. Closest to average, kingfish: 13.7kg M Hori, crayfish: 1.4kg Marara Murray Haig, snapper: 2.94kg Rowan Moore; and lucky draw for a 60" flat screen tv: Rob Wrightman (Whangarei).
