Eva Simpson is searching for a photo of her grandmother.

Eva Simpson is searching for a photo of her grandmother.

Eva Simpson returned to her home in Tasmania last week without finding what she had been hoping for — a photo of her grandmother.

Her grandmother, Rea Wi Hakopa (nee Ritete), was born at Mangonui in 1906 and died in 1945. She is buried at Kenana, south of Mangonui.

Eva, who has family at Ahipara, said the one thing she most wanted to remember her grandmother by was a photo, but her search during her visit to the Far North was unsuccessful.

"Someone must have a photo of her somewhere though, and if they do I would dearly love to see it."

■ Anyone who has information can contact Eva at evasim7@gmail, or the Northland Age.
