In the long course women's swim section, Carolyn Younger of Whangarei took line honours in 1:36:30 with Natasha Bowyer (Auckland) hot on her heels coming in 53 seconds later in 1:37:23.
The short course event consisting of a 350m swim, 9km cycle and 3.8km run was won by Whangarei's Louis Poot in 40:40, followed by impressive 12-year-old Trevor Coetzee in 47:06.
Coetzee was backing up from his race in the secondary schools competition the day before.
Whangarei's Jorja Swain pipped Aucklander Kate Milington by less than a minute in the female section, finishing in 49:55.
In the teams section Karen Morgan, Craig Morgan and Bob Smith from Dargaville Squash Club Team took out the short course team division in 44:46 while Team Trees, consisting of Mike and Oscar Trees, took out the open team Swim division in 1:28:18.
They were followed closely by Team Race NZ's Lee Greer, Leon Blackburn and Jemma O'Donnell (Kai Iwi Lakes) in 1:29.47.
Meanwhile in the ASB Northland Secondary Schools Sports Association Triathlon, Whangarei Boys' and Girls' High Schools made a clean sweep of the major placings in the senior and intermediate events.
Kurt Coetzee and Portia Olney-Kemp took out the under-19 individual divisions, while Lucas Thompson and Alysha Donavan won the under-16 individual events.
In the junior event, Huanui College students Luka Clark and Grace Gardner won their divisions.
Meanwhile, in the sub-junior division, Whangarei Intermediate student Trevor Coetzee and Otamatea High School's Poppy Scott were the winners.
