Musseling in on Mitimiti's Kutai Festival
The people of Mitimiti in North Hokianga celebrated all things kutai on Saturday, with everything from wontons to sausages and Taniwha burgers made from the west coast's famously sweet mussels. Comedian Pio Terei MC'd the Matihetihe School fundraiser, which also featured a kutai-shelling contest, tugs-of-war, chainsaw carving and a Humvee-pulling challenge.
