Kaihoe o Ngati Rehia waka ama expedition Maitai Bay to Whangarei, October, 2012
Twelve paddlers from Kaihoe o Ngati Rehia waka ama club left Maitai Bay, on the Karikari Peninsula, in two six-seater outrigger canoes. Their aim is to cover the 270km to Whangarei in four days. Photographer and journalist Peter de Graaf was there to wave them off.
