Northland's top young entrepreneurs

Northland's top young entrepreneurs have been out in force peddling everything from frozen yoghurt and dancing pants to a hydrogen fuel cell and vegan hair dye. More than 25 student companies, from Kaitaia in the north to Bream Bay College in the south, took part in the Young Enterprise Scheme Trade Fair at the Turner Centre in Kerikeri on September 1. Described as a ''singing, dancing, kapa haka extravaganza'', Kura Toa (Warrior School) was the 2012 production by Bay of Islands College and the multi-talented Maunsell family, who have adapted Tim Tipene's novel of the same name and placed it firmly in the Far North. Pictures by Peter de Graaf.
