Expect to hear plenty of new tracks when hot, young Kiwi rock band Brendon Thomas and The Vibes performs in Whangarei.
The band, which plays at the Butter Factory tonight after a gig in Kerikeri last night, is on its national Wrap You In the Sun tour to promote its new EP. Band leader Brendon Thomas said the tour was about airing plenty of the new tracks, while also giving fans a taste of its older music.
The band came third in the the second series of the New Zealand version of The X Factor.
Competing in the groups category, they were mentored by Willy Moon, then Shelton Woolwright. They were the first band in of The X Factor (NZ) to make it into the final.
"You can take it as reality TV or look at it as a way of getting some publicity and promotion and make the most out of it. Before, we were playing four or five shows a week, setting up beside toilets and other places, just to play," he said.
