Thousands of people are expected to flock to the popular St Francis Xavier Catholic School gala this weekend for a colourful, action-packed family day.
The school's parents and teachers' gala committee has been busy adding the final touches before gates open to the public from 9am tomorrow.
The event is the school's major fundraiser each year and one of the biggest galas in Northland.
Acting principal Glenys Jakicevich said everyone was welcome for a day of fun and she was hoping for pleasant weather.
Last year, students took an environmentally-friendly approach to producing popular lolly leis by using harakeke (flax) instead of plastic wrap.
