Gone Too Soon
(PG), Roadshow Entertainment
You have to think the legend that is Michael Jackson is only going to grow over the years.
The King of Pop was not only a legendary musician and entertainer, he was also unusual to say the least.
His antics and quirks attracted more attention in his final years than his music, which is a shame as this man was truly talented.
What will add even more to the legend is the way he died.
To this day, no one seems quite sure what caused his demise.
One man who has tried to unravel the Jackson years is best-selling author and documentary film-maker Ian Halperin.
He spent more than five years gathering information on Jackson from the people in his inner circle to try to develop a real picture of the man behind the headlines.
Six months out from Jackson's death last year, Halperin predicted he had only half a year to live.
With his untimely death, the documentary maker embarked on a new investigation - he wanted to find out the real circumstances behind the death.
In Gone Too Soon he examines the court cases, the drugs, the crushing debt and the physical and emotional pressure attached to Jackson's planned 50-date finale tour.
Halperin has managed to get people close to Jackson to speak with some authority on the man.
Spending time with Halperin you start to understand and have sympathy for the final years of Michael Jackson's life.
