Casie Fyall

Waikanae surf lifesaver Casie Fyall raced to gold and silver in the interclub component of the world surf lifesaving championships in Adelaide last week, for her Australian club Kurrawa from Broadbeach in Queensland.

The 21-year-old was part of the club’s gold-medal effort in the open women’s beach relay, and took a silver medal in the open women’s beach flags final.

She said she was “rapt” to medal in the flags. It was her first individual medal out of New Zealand. She also finished seventh in the beach sprint final.
