VISITING judges and riders made for an enjoyable two days of dressage competition at the Gisborne Dressage Championships held last month at the Poverty Bay A&P Showgrounds. Outside competitors rode off with many of the top awards. Anna Williams aboard the Wairoa bred Tuahu Gemma took out the award for the highest overall average percentage.

Para Equestrian classes featured for the first time on the programme. Potential Olympic contender Rachel Stock from Pokeno riding Rimini Park Emmerichhis won this championship, and local rider Katie Bothamley and Rushmoor Duvanti took out reserve champion.

BERNINA SEWING & CRAFT CENTRE LEVEL 1 PONY – Champion: Whatababe & Isabella Collier (Gis), Reserve: Platinum Playboy & Amelia Paull (Gis)

GISBORNE WOOL LEVEL 2 HORSE – Champion: Donnerchole & Raewyn Nel (Waik), Reserve: Alpha Beta & Willa Aitken (CHB)
