Waikohu will continue their defence of the Barry Cup tomorrow when they take on Tokomaru Bay United at Te Karaka.

Waikohu come off a strong 65-7 win against Matakaoa last weekend.

Waikohu veteran Mario Counsell says they want to keep the momentum going.

“The team's feeling good after the last win but we're taking nothing lightly,” Counsell said.

“We have made some changes. Jordan Christie will start at halfback instead of Ruan du Plooy, and Toru Noanoa will start at prop in place of Perhyn Martin.”

Tokomaru Bay's new coach, Lisa Muller, is taking them through for this game.

She said that as this was her first game as coach of Tokomaru Bay since she was coaching with Ruatoria City, she had no expectations other than for the players to “front and produce a good game”.

“This is the first time Tokomaru Bay have been in the Barry Cup for ages so it will be different,” she said.

If Waikohu retain the cup again, the third challenge will come from Wairoa on August 28.

Tomorrow's challenge will kick off in Te Karaka at 2.45pm.

Reserves: Isaac Ngatai, Peryhn Martin, TK Tane, Te Mana Barbarich, Tapuraka Dixon, Matatua Ruru, Punch Noanoa.

TOKOMARU BAY: To be confirmed.
