Luca Vita and his father Mike had a great day at Eastland Kart Club’s prizegiving function on Sunday.

Luca was overall top driver in the club’s all-in feature race held at the end of each club meeting. Mike was second.

They also finished first and second — in the same order — in the KT light class.

Luca also won the Rotax class and the award for most points overall.

Nearly 50 people turned up for the prizegiving, which was held at the Gisborne Speedway Club’s rooms

The Starr family also featured, Noah picking up the award for most improved and his grandad Ian being recognised as most helpful club member . . . he turns up at nearly all working bees.

The youngest driver in the open class, 13-year-old Vinzent MacGregor, was also the winner of that class. He turned 13 only two weeks ago, so raced as a 12-year-old.
