POVERTY Bay are into the semifinals of the national under-15 girls’ tournament in Carterton.
The PB side powered past Wellington 6-3 in yesterday’s quarterfinals, courtesy of a hat-trick to captain Heni-Kamaia Thompson, a double to Kelsey Teneti and a single from Tiari Pepere.
They led 5-2 at halftime.
PB were
to face Canterbury in a 10am semifinal today while Central Otago were to play Wanganui in the other semi.
PB have scored more goals than any other side at the tournament so far — 25 — while Teneti (nine goals) is the leading individual goalscorer.
