A field of nearly 50 riders fronted for Tuesday night racing at the Lytton road track.

Striders: Jacob Gibson showed great determination in his five motos. Scott Pheasant, Pippa Spence and Ivy Lasenby showed great speed. Oliver Gough and Damien Smith did well as they rode from the half-track point.

5 and under: Manaaki McNabb-Henry collected five wins, with Toby Smith in second. Blake Carpendale rode strongly for third ahead of Alex Kelly.

6 and 7yrs: Reave Nepia-Anderson, with three wins, was the rider to beat while Walker Wallis and Brad O’Connell-Bacon (2 wins) contributed strongly to five fast motos. Sophie Barwick was a close fourth while Asher Nepia-Anderson led home Anna Spence, William Johnston-Priest and Ada Lasenby.

8 and 9yrs: A total of nine riders made this the biggest group: Matt Hills topped the class with five wins but Aliyah Lardelli (3 wins) and Louie Sanders (1 win) chased hard. It won’t be long before they really challenge him. Kyran Lasenby was next home in fourth, with a one-point lead over Oliver Pheasant. Asher McKnight had a good night out, with some close racing from Liam Spence, Jorja Rogers and Winter Hawea.

Male 18yrs-plus: When Simon Gibson wasn’t riding with the speedsters he raced off ahead of this pack. Jason Lasenby had four class wins, followed by Bryce Kelly, Shane Pragnell and Rob Graham.
