Hawke's Bay’s reclamation of the Lucy May and Bays Bronze women’s interprovincial trophies lasted just one year.

Poverty Bay won back both pieces of silverware in the annual handicap fixture held on the Poverty Bay course on Monday.

The Lucy May (silver) clash went down to the wire, with the home side prevailing 9½ to 8½ over nine holes of combined pairs stableford and 18 holes of singles matchplay.

The Bays Bronze result was more clearcut, Poverty Bay winning 12-6.

Hawke’s Bay went into both ties as the defending champions but Poverty Bay have an impressive history in the annual exchange, and added to that with another double.
