High School Old Boys, a football team formed in time to take part in this year’s Eastern League competition, completed the Eastern League second division-Chris Moore Cup double at the weekend.

They beat Gisborne Thistle Youth 3-1 after extra time in an entertaining final at Childers Road Reserve on Saturday.

The club revived a name used in Gisborne football in the 1970s and ’80s, and at least one member of that team from bygone days was at Saturday’s game. This year’s High School Old Boys team, with supporters, celebrated at the end of the Chris Moore Cup final.
