LUKAS Ludwig, Jade Swann and Ella Arthur are Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay junior gymnastics champions.

They were overall winners of the Level 3 boys’ and Step 5 and Step 1 girls’ competitions respectively at the Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay Junior Gymnastics Championships in Hastings.

Lukas won pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar, and placed fourth on floor to take Level 3 overall gold ahead of George Hartridge from Hastings Gym Club and Jordan Turner from Taradale Gym Club.

Jade won vault, bars, beam and floor to gain overall gold in Step 5.

Ella won floor, and was second on vault and fourth on beam in winning overall gold in Step 1.

Dara Mulrooney was sixth overall in Step 1. Her best performances were on bar and floor, where she placed fourth.

Stephanie Collier placed seventh overall in Step 1. Her best performance was on bar, where she placed third.

Charlie Keepa was 12th overall. Her best performance was on bar, where she placed sixth.

Tia Brown was 20th overall, Amelia Arthur 23rd overall and Greer Robertson 25th overall.

Team wins bronzeThe team of Ella Arthur, Charlie Keepa and Tia Brown won the bronze medal in the team event. Team 2 — Amelia Arthur, Dara Mulrooney, Stephanie Collier and Greer Robertson — were fourth.

In Step 2, Ralo Bright won silver overall. She was second on bars, third on vault and beam, and fifth on floor.

Danielle Blair was third overall and was third on bars, fourth on vault, fifth on beam and sixth on floor.

Gloria Allen was fourth in the Step 3 girls’ competition. She won the vault, and was fourth on bars, fifth on floor and sixth on beam.

Teammate Sarai Gudgeon was sixth overall and was fourth on vault, beam and floor.

Lily Beaufoy was seventh overall. Her best performances were second on floor and fourth on vault.

Charli Candy was ninth overall and placed fourth on floor.

The Step 3 girls’ team won silver in the team event.

In Step 4 girls, Silke McNaught was seventh overall and placed second on vault and beam.

Lucy Hazlett was eighth overall in Step 4. She was fourth on beam and fifth on floor.

Ngaia Gudgeon placed 11th overall in Step 4. Her best performance was on beam, where she placed seventh.

Gabrielle Wong placed eighth overall in Step 5. She was third on vault and bars, and sixth on floor.

Eireann Hudner placed fourth overall in Step 6. She was first on bars, fifth on vault and sixth on beam and floor.

Elisabeth Missen was seventh overall in Step 6 girls. She placed fourth on vault and bars, and fifth on beam.

Callum Hawkins placed fourth overall in Level 2 boys. His best performances were on floor, where he came first, rings (second), high bar (third) and pommel (fourth).

Jackson Horne was fifth overall in Level 2 boys. His best apparatus was vault, in which he placed second. He was sixth on floor.
