Eastland will be represented at the first round of the 2018 inter-association super veterans’ Division 2 badminton competition in Feilding this weekend.

Placed fifth in last year’s competition, Eastland will play teams from Waikato and Bay of Plenty, placed third and fourth respectively last year.

Eastland team members are Kevin Lee and Helen Morley from the Gisborne Badminton Club; Ron Prebble, Linda White, Annabelle Riwaka and Ruth Ledger, from the Patutahi club; and loan players Matheus Batlajeri, from Manawatu, and Ivor Holland, from Thames Valley.

Morley returns as a full-time member of the team this year after playing for only one weekend in 2017.

Sheree Gray is not available for the 2018 season but may act as a reserve later in the year.

Holland is a valuable addition to the team. He has years of experience playing for Thames Valley and last season he played for the Waikato team.
