Several junior athletes from Gisborne did well at the Bay of Plenty junior (under 14) surf lifesaving championships at Waihi on Sunday.
Sophie Petro from Dawson Building Midway won the u14 surf race, and was second in the board and third in the diamond. Her clubmate Jack Lepper was second
in the u14 board. Midway's Ella Sutton won the u12 diamond, and was second in both the u12 surf race and u12 board.
A composite Wainui/Midway team finished second in the u14 board relay.
