Henrike Puketapu had a successful time with her three horses. She rode HSP Soe to the champion riding horse award and reserve champion riding horse. On RM Limbo. she was second in the gentleman’s saddle hunter, while her third horse, HSP Levi, was reserve champion young stock.
Jess Herries and Tane Mahuta competed in the pleasure horse classes, where they got two fourth placings.
Pippa Helm and Raukura Rain picked up a handful of ribbons in the pony club section.
Zoe McNaught and her new pony Mr Riley had two placings in the pleasure pony classes.
Jess McCann and Saltire Solar Flare won the pony 1.05m show jumping and were sixth in the 1m. With Miss Candy Floss, Jess was placed in the equitation for riders aged 14 years and over.
Jaime De Costa and Simply Sassy were third in the 1.05-metre showjumping.
Isobel Bevitt and Buffalo Man were placed in show hunter classes, the highlight being victory in the Category A high points class.
Iyve Spiers and Miss Candy Floss also picked up placings that included victory in the 60-centimetre Category A show hunter.
Caroline Coop and Moritz were fifth in the 80cm show hunter, and daughter Georgie with her pony Billy the Kid got two sixth placings in show hunters.
Jenny Randall and Nero Bello were third in the amateur show hunter and were reserve champion show hunter 1.10m
Fraser Tombleson and his two horses picked up several placings in the showjumping. With Eye See Ruby he was second in the 1m and first in the 1.10m. With Mea, he was fifth in the 1.25m and sixth in the 1.30m.
Lily Beaufoy had her first outing on Jakaranda (owned by Mick Gardner). They were placed third in the 1m class.
Ella Rouse and her two ponies were placed in show hunter classes. With Ruby Tunes she was first in the Category B 80cm and got two third placings, and with MJK Isle of Skye she won the Category 1 70cm, and had other placings in show hunter.
Fraser Eddowes and Titanium competed at their first show and were second in the horse 90cm showjumping.
- The first of the local competitions takes place today with the Gisborne Pony Club Sports being held at the Gisborne A&P Showgrounds. Entry is free for spectators.
Both showjumping and show hunter series points prizes are being contested. Points are collected at local competitions throughout the summer. Winners will be announced at the Larsen Sawmilling Show Jumping Championships in January.
