Midway stars included Ella Sutton, who won the u12 diamond; Zane Taylor, the u10 board; Indie Nikora and Lilla Hain, in the beach flags; and Sylvia Gaddum, in the u8 run-wade-run.
The club was especially strong in the team events, with golds in the u10, u12 and u14 board relays, the u9 girls' beach relay, and the u14 Grand Cameron relay.
Head coach Matt Sutton said he was “super-proud” of all the Midway family for the amazing performance over the weekend.
“Our whole junior programme is just going so well and the results we're getting are a byproduct of years and years of really hard work from a lot of people,” Sutton said.
“I must single out Jared Phelps and Sam Gavin as two people who have worked so hard for these kids over the past few seasons. Those two should be super-proud of what they are achieving.”
Sutton said it was almost impossible to single out any one athlete.
“We have success at both ends of the spectrum.
“We have athletes like Ella Sutton and Sophie Petro, who are at the front of every race they compete in, and we also have amazing young kids who step out of their comfort zones to compete for the first time, or compete in conditions that really challenge them.”
Waikanae's Chloe Kapene won the u13 girls' board and Jerome Tamatea, the u12 boys' beach flags.
Silver medals went to Rubi Hart in the u13 beach events, and to Kapene in the u13 girls' diamond. Waikanae athletes picked up four bronze medals.
Best performers for Riversun Wainui were Isabel Arthur, who won silver in the u11 beach flags, and Zoe Keepa, who won silver in the u8 flags, and bronze in the u8 bodyboard race.
