THE Gisborne Speedway Club has been forced to cancel its next scheduled meeting for the season this Saturday night due to some drivers and cars not being available.
Met Service forecasts showing rain and south-easterlies for the weekend would probably have meant the meeting was under
threat anyway.
“We have cars and drivers away at the North Island Saloon Car Championships at Bay Park, and the streetstocks will be involved in the Bay of Plenty championships in Rotorua,” club president Neil Gooch said.
“The club always wants to be able to put on as good a show as possible for our loyal crowd. But with so many classes affected this weekend we decided it was better to not run at all, rather than put on half a programme.”
