New Zealand champion Matt Scott placed 11th in the men’s 10-kilometre open water swim at the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Tokyo this week.
Enterprise Cars Swim Team member Scott was fourth after the first of the five laps of the Hojo Beach course and in the top 10 heading
into the final lap.
He clocked 2 hours 2 minutes 23 seconds — 3min 33secs behind winner and race favourite Jordan Wilimovsky of the United States.
Scott’s Kiwi teammate Charlotte Webby, of New Plymouth, was ninth in the women’s race.
