GISBORNE Harrier Club members returned from the Hawke’s Bay-Gisborne Cross-country Championships in Hastings with six gold medals and one silver.
Gold medals went to: Nadine McKinnon, who won the senior women’s six-kilometre race in 29 minutes 50 seconds; Briana Irving, 16-year girls’ 4km, 16:19; Le’Sharn Anderson, 14yr girls’ 4km, 17:16;Myah Houthuijzen, 12yr girls’ 2km, 8:09; Ty Houthuijzen, 10yr boys’ 1km, 4:07; and Terry Packman, 65-and-over men’s 6km, 32:19.
Steve Morrow was second in the master men’s 8km race. His time was 30:10, four seconds behind that of race winner Graeme Buscke of Napier Harrier Club.
Evelyn Busher was third in the 12yr girls’ 2km, in 9:24.
Breanna Iremonger was fourth in the 14yr girls’ 4km, in 20:17.
